Our story so far

1993: HomeServe was founded as a joint venture by entrepreneur Sir Richard Harpin and South Staffs Water. With the vision to remove the hassle, worry, and high cost of emergency home repairs for homeowners

1997: Explosive growth saw us reach one million customers within four years in the UK

2001: International expansion launching Doméo as a joint venture with Veolia in France

2003: Launched in North America

2004: Demerged from South Staffs Water and listed on the London Stock Exchange with a £370m valuation

2007: Acquisition of Reparalia in Spain and long-term partnership with Endesa

2010: Reached 5 million milestone of Membership customers worldwide

2011: Took full control of Doméo, buying out Veolia

2012: Continued to grow internationally launching in Canada and Germany

2018: Launch of HVAC businesses in France and Spain

2019: Established our presence in Japan in a joint venture with Mitsubishi Corporation

2020: Business proved resilient during the COVID pandemic: we continued to grow and did 3,000 free jobs in the UK for key workers. Launch of the HomeServe Foundation and HomeServe Academy to champion apprenticeships. Acquisition of Mesos drives expansion from Spain into Portugal

2021: Expansion from France into Belgium. First electric vehicle in our UK van fleet. CET acquired to enter the UK claims assistance market. Entry into Consumer Finance with acquisition of Shermin Finance

2022: HomeServe plc was acquired by Hestia Bidco Limited, an indirect subsidiary of funds advised or managed by affiliates of Brookfield Infrastructure Partners L.P. HomeServe has therefore left the public markets. Post-acquisition, the business continued to operate under the HomeServe brand, as HomeServe North America and HomeServe EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa)

2025: Launched into Greece
